- A one day programme covering the minimum requirements of first aid
Aim
At the end of the course students will be able to assess priorities of treatment. Demonstrate resuscitation procedures and the action to be taken when dealing with first aid conditions appropriate to their workplace.

- The task of the first aider
- Mouth to mouth ventilation (adult and child)
- Recognition and Treatment of shock and bleeding
- Initial assessment
- Heart attacks
- Asthma
- Epilepsy
- Diabetics
- Illnesses
- Obstructions of the airway
- Burns and Scalds
- Disorders of unconsciousness & casualty management
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (adult and child)
- Priorities of treatment
